They also made it to their first-ever Scottish Cup Final but were beaten by Aberdeen Futsal Academy at Perth College.

What they said

Goalkeeper Robert Black is keen to improve on last season, saying: “Last season we had a very good start to the season. In the first three quarters, we only lost one game to PYF so it was looking good.

“We made it to the Scottish Cup Final as well but the end of the season didn’t go to plan, losing two finals unfortunately.

“But we’re feeling good ahead of the new season – it was our first Scottish Cup Final and the highest we’d finished in the Super League as well.

“We’re just looking to build on things and continue to get better.

“The next step from the cup final and finishing second is winning the cup and winning the league – so that’s the aim!”

They will, though, be without some key players from last term.

“We’ve had a few changes, a few players going away including Louie Anderson, who is going to have a shot at pro futsal in Italy,” Black added.

“Obviously we’re buzzing and gutted at the same time. He was an amazing asset to the team but we want him to do as well as possible.

“That’s what happens when you do well, players move on. But we’ll get new players, continue to build and work from there.”
