Super League high-fliers Dundee were shocked by SFL-Dundee leaders FC33 in a tense cup clash at DISC.

FC33 continued their perfect start to the campaign by adding a second win from two in the Super League Cup.

A strong first-half saw them edge out their top-flight opponents in an entertaining contest in Dundee.

At the same time, the Super League brought 2023 to a close with two goal-filled contests at West Lothian College.

Aberdeen continued their strong start by seeing off bottom side TJ Slovak Lads before Joga added their second win of the campaign with a big victory over Galacticos.

Following a perfect start to the season, Dundee finished the calendar year with back-to-back defeats after a loss at PYF Saltires saw the champions move level at the top of the Super League.

And in the Super League Cup they will be playing catch-up after a tight contest against FC33.

FC33 came into the game on the back of nine straight wins this season and made it a perfect 10 with a strong first-half display at DISC.

The Hay brothers kicked things off with Mitchell’s long-range strike after two minutes added to by Kerr finishing at the back post.

Nine minutes in and it was 3-0 as Callum Rae rattled a close-range finish into the top corner.

Dundee kicked some life into their performance as Ross Paterson turned and fired in for 3-1 but Kerr Hay would stretch FC33’s lead once more before the break.

The Super League side stepped things up after the break, first Rhys Fraser cutting the arrears with a free-kick before Kamil Kadela made it 4-3 with 17 minutes remaining.

That made things tense for the SFL-Dundee leaders but they continued to create chances at the other end. However, they were unable to find a way past Rob Black in the Dundee goal.

With just two minutes to go Paterson fired a low effort off the post but there was to be no late leveller as FC33 enjoyed a fine victory.

TJ Slovak Lads 9-13 Aberdeen

Aberdeen travelled to Livingston aiming to get back to winning ways in the Super League after their 6-6 draw with Letham Santos seven days previous.

And they got off to the perfect start against TJ Slovak Lads with Grant Campbell notching after one minute of play.

Chris Angus made it 2-0 on eight minutes before a flurry of five goals in four minutes put Aberdeen fully in control.

Josh Bolton got three of those with Angus adding his second and third strikes before Slovak Lads got on the board through Erik Sula.

The half-time score was 8-2 with the Scottish Cup winners enjoying things in Livingston.

Slovak Lads, though, showed character in the second half and racked up seven second-half strikes of their own with Sula ending the match with six in total.

Aberdeen, though, left West Lothian with all three points following a 13-9 victory, Angus grabbing five and Bolton four.

That leaves Aberdeen in third spot, two points off top with a game in hand.

Galacticos 4-18 Joga

Goals continued to flow in the second match at West Lothian College with Joga returning to action with an impressive victory.

The Glasgow side have had a long wait between Super League matches and have some catching up to do with the rest of the league.

But they made it two wins from four in their first season in the top flight.

Lewis Mackie kicked things off by opening the scoring against Galacticos and from there Joga were in control of the contest.

Josh Farquhar, Sorley Youngs and Cooper Knox all struck inside the opening 10 minutes before a couple of goals from Benjamin Willis Dodd got Galacticos on the scoresheet.

The half would end with Joga leading 8-2.

There would be more goals in the second period, however, with Joga racking up their biggest ever Super League win.

Top scorer on the night was Youngs with four - Knox, Farquhar and Mackie all finished with three goals each.

Joga face Aberdeen on the return to action on January 7.
